Antonia Maret

Compassionate and caring, Antonia is a keen follower of the arts and culture - even her calling as a plant Bio-developer is for her an expression of her artistic whims. Born in Martigues, France in 2994, Antonia excels as a Bio-dev despite her lack of interest in raw data and numbers - in fact, that gives her a unique perspective as she often favours trial and error over analytics. This also gives her a great understanding of chaotic systems - such as potential plant interbreeding - which can be difficult to quantify with a simple model. She sings, draws, and collects fine art. She enjoys a close friendship with Sarkona, who she considers both a mentor and family.

She spent a few years on Mars prior to the events of the novel, finding that she related to a lot of Martian culture. It was there that she obtained her tattoos.
